K+S KALI GmbH, Kassel, supports PotatoEurope, the international fair held at the Bockerode manor, near Hanover, 8 – 9 September 2010, also by offering a range of interesting contributions to the conference programme. On 7 September 2010, at the opening Potato Event of the international potato fair in Hanover, Dr. Ernst Andres, Member of Board of Management of the K+S KALI GmbH, illustrated the expertise of the K+S KALI GmbH on questions relating to plant nutrition.
“As a manufacturer of potassium and magnesium fertilisers, K+S KALI GmbH is an important guarantor for high yields and premium quality in potato cultivation,” Dr. Ernst Andres pointed out at the opening event of the PotatoEurope, on 7 September 2010, in Hanover.

As Germany’s foremost manufacturer, K+S KALI GmbH mines valuable raw materials, and processes them into high-grade, non-substitutable plant nutrients. With this, the company does not only contribute to securing the provision of fertilisers to European agriculture, but also offer solutions for providing food to a growing world population.
The crude salts mined by K+S KALI GmbH are unique worldwide, as they also contain magnesium sulphates in the form of the mineral kieserite. Today, the company offers a portfolio of products that is exceptional for a manufacturer of potash. “With these products, we provide answers to the agronomic questions raised by Europe’s high-performance agriculture, but also to other regions of the world,” Dr. Andres emphasised. Particularly the cultivation of potatoes demands a high level of expertise, based on extensive field trials, which K+S KALI GmbH’s application consultants will gladly share.
This knowledge transfer, provided all over the world by K+S KALI GmbH, may play a significant role in solving the problem of “Feeding the World Population”. Balanced fertilisation with all plant nutrients is the safe way to increased yields.
