K+S KALI GmbH at the PotatoEurope 2014: Potatoes suffer from drought stress – Potassium provides relief

This year, PotatoEurope will take place from September 3rd - 4th, at the Bockerode manor near Hanover. At booth GC05, K+S KALI GmbH will provide information on the effects of balanced fertilisation on potato yield and quality, and how it can ensure excellent harvests even under arid conditions. You will also find out more about fertilisation in general, and about our speciality products with benefits for potato cultivation, such as Patentkali® and potassium and magnesium fertilisers.

Yield expectations and intended utilisation are major criteria for potato fertilisation. Based on extensive field trials, our agronomists' recommendation is: "Don't skimp on potassium!" Next to nitrogen, potassium greatly influences yield formation and quality criteria in potatoes.

Identifying deficiency symptoms: live and on the spot, by using our new app

Soils and plants with an insufficient nutrient supply will produce deficiency symptoms on plants. At the fair booth, you will have an opportunity to inspect potato plants with pronounced deficiency symptoms, specifically raised for this purpose, and subject them to a “live” on-the-spot analysis, which will help to identify under-supplied plants on your own fields.

Familiarise yourself with the „KALI-TOOLBOX“ app in English and German language versions for Smartphones and tablets, complete with descriptive photographs and detailed descriptions of deficiency symptoms. This app is available for Apple and Android, free of charge, and will support your own potato plant analyses.

Our agricultural advisors are available to answer individual questions related to fertilisation and particularly to water efficiency.

We are looking forward to your visit.
