Jose Antonio Quaggio is a researcher and lecturer at the Centre for Soil Science and Environmental Science of the Agricultural Institute, Campinas in Brazil. In recent years, he has increasingly been focusing on the effects of the application of potash fertilizers on the yield and quality of citrus fruits and pineapples. He succeeded in demonstrating that the use of sulphate of potash has a significantly positive impact on both parameters. Jose Antonio Quaggio has thus made an important contribution to increasing productivity.
The award ceremony took place at the end of June at the NewAg conference in Athens.
K+S KALI GmbH is a member of the Sulphate of Potash Information Board (SOPIB). SOPIB is a non-profit organisation which supports scientific research into sulphate of potash globally. It cooperates with leading researchers who investigate the effect of sulphate of potash in greenhouse and field trials.
