K+S UK & Eire Ltd. attended ‘Cereals 2009’ for the first time since the name change from ‘Potash Limited’ in January 2009 and are delighted to report that the show was a runaway success. For the second year, copies of our Nutrient deficiency booklet were available and proved ever popular amongst the information-hungry visitors as did the “nutrient deficiency clinic” where growing crops can be viewed displaying various classic nutrient deficiency symptoms.
Managing Director, Dr Kristian Orlovius described the event as the “best yet” and the team were in agreement. Over 8000 visitors called at the stand for new information on the results of UK field trials, for advice about nutrient management or for tips on using EPSO foliar fertilisers for maximum benefit.
The main news at the event was a reminder of the importance of potash in a balanced nutrition program as the yield of winter malting barley in our K experiment tumbled by 2/3 tonne ha-1 in the first year where K was omitted.
Also interesting for visitors, were the latest results of foliar nutrition trials proving conclusively that the benefits of including EPSO products with the spray program are more than just cosmetic “greening”.
If you missed the chance to pick up your copy of the deficiency guide with the special voucher printed in farmers weekly you may still be able to obtain one by contacting us on FREEPHONE 0800 0322480.
