Sulphur deficiency (S)

Sulphur deficiency in sugar beets will cause yellowing of the younger leaves, which will also be narrower and smaller, in comparison to sufficient supply of sulphur. Leaves may also be spoon-shaped.

In case Korn-Kali® is routinely applied as spring or autumn fertilisation sulphur is automatically included, as Korn-Kali® contains 5% sulphur. Additionally, ESTA® Kieserit applications are possible. If the sulphur deficiency becomes apparent during a subsequent vegetation period it may be remedied by foliar application of EPSO Top® or EPSO Microtop®.
