Sheep and Goats

Sheep and Goats

Generally, sheep and goat potassium requirement is met by their basic roughage feed.

However, there may be a deficiency of magnesium, as the magnesium content of farm-grown basic feed may vary strongly, depending on origin and plant composition. Particularly in young, non-variegated grass pastures, magnesium content may be very low. Specifically gestating and lactating sheep and goats, as well as dairy animals may develop magnesium deficiency after being fed potassium-rich basic feedingstuff.

Magnesium-rich KaSa Mag may therefore be used as a high-grade magnesium component in the feeding of breeding and dairy animals. KaSa Mag contains sulphatic magnesium, which is more easily absorbed than magnesium oxide (MgO) and, in comparison to magnesium chloride (MgCl2), represents less risk of cauterising stomach and intestinal mucosa. KaSa Mag is available with 98% and 49% magnesium.
