Aquaculture

Our salts are used in a variety of aquacultures, and for a variety of purposes.

In shrimp farming in salt water basins, potassium chloride (KCl) plays an important role in the build-up of the exoskeletons. Additionally, KCl is used for osmoregulation in fish farming, reducing animal stress. KaSa K99^® is a controlled and certified product that can be used for these purposes.

Magnesium is essential for osmoregulation and the creation of the fishes’ exoskeletons. Magnesium sulphate is also used as a disinfectant in sweet water aquaculture. KaSa Mag98^® and KaSa Mag49^® with 98 % and 49 % Mg represent a certified source of magnesium in aquaculture.
