At the annual meeting of the International Plant Nutrition Institute (abbreviated by the acronym IPNI) with headquarters in Georgia, USA, Prof. Dr. Andreas Gransee, Head of the Department of Applied Research and Consulting Agro within K+S KALI GmbH, introduced the new Institute of Applied Plant Nutrition (abbreviated by the acronym IAPN), Göttingen, Germany.
In November 2010, K+S KALI GmbH co-founded the IAPN together with the University of Göttingen, at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen. This institute shall be committed to practice-oriented research in the field of plant nutrition, and to finding solutions and methods for intelligent fertilization management, in order to address the ongoing global challenges. Gransee: “I would very much appreciate international cooperation between the IAPN and the IPNI. The IAPN can bridge the gap between agrarian research and field trials, in order to facilitate the transfer of the knowledge attained into practice.”
The election was held on 22 May 2011, at the annual meeting of the IPNI in Montreal, Canada, within the scope of the 79th Annual Conference of the International Fertilizer Industry Association (IFA).
