Salt Reduction Europe 2011 from February 16th to17th 2011 in London is a practical solution-packed conference for food manufacturers looking for new solutions to replace salt in food. The conference is showcasing new innovations and providing the attendees with the latest information to overcome some of the technical challenges surrounding salt reduction.
K+S KALI GmbH supports Salt Reduction Europe 2011 in London. Also the company provides its solutions to substitute salt as well as balanced nutrition with its product potassium chloride (KCl Food Grade). Highly purified potassium chloride Food Grade is used in food and drinks, for example in the production of carrageen when preparing whipping cream, in convenience food (i.e. packet soups) and isotonic drinks for mineral fortification.
Since potassium chloride chemically resembles food-grade salt the closest, it has already successfully adopted an important position in table salt substitutes and low sodium foods on an international level. In this context, potassium chloride is able to take on flavour-related functions and act as processing aid, i.e. for preservation.
K+S KALI GmbH is co-operating with a number of research facilities who are working on designing recipes for low sodium finished food. At present, investigations are being performed with respect to convenience food to determine which amount of KCl can be used as a substitute for NaCl in order to find optimum solutions for the food industry.
With a new facility in Germany for the production of high purity potassium chloride, K+S KALI GmbH is your first choice supplier for the growing demand in salt replacement and low sodium products in the Health Care & Food segment.
