Customer-oriented Quality Management
K+S KALI GmbH has a tradition of pursuing a high standard of quality. With its comprehensive quality management systems, the company works continuously to increase the efficiency of its business processes and optimise products and services for its customers. Compliance with the quality management and certification systems applied by K+S KALI GmbH is reviewed regularly by independent certification bodies and documented with certificates.
Basic system and customer-oriented certifications
DIN EN ISO 9001 forms the basis of quality management at K+S KALI GmbH. Over the past ten years, further certification systems have been gradually introduced, enabling us to meet the needs of customers from different sectors. Some systems are based directly on DIN EN ISO 9001, whilst others are standalone. The following certification systems are currently applied:
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) for pharmaceutical ingredients addresses the particularly high quality standards of the pharmaceutical industry. The system is based on the international standard ICH Q7, which sets out the requirements for technology, hygiene and documentation for the production of pharmaceutical ingredients.
- The quality management systems QS (inspection system of QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH) and GMP+ (GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance Schema of GMP+ International B.V.) include specific risk analysis. With their help, compliance with cleanliness and hygiene requirements is controlled for products destined to be food for animals. K+S KALI GmbH uses these systems for processes related to the feed material of the brand KaSa.
- The systems IFS (International Featured Standard), Halal and Kosher fulfill specific requirements from the food industry. In processes certified in accordance with IFS, a comprehensive HACCP system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is used. Thus all risks, which might arise for the consumers of food products, are monitored, prevented or limited to the greatest possible extent.
- Certification under AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service) demonstrates the effectiveness of the measures adopted by K+S KALI GmbH in the supply chain to prevent the critical contamination of fertilizers. Goods exported to Australia must, for example, be free of seeds, soil, live insects or dead animal or plant material, which involve the risk of exotic pests or diseases being transferred.
Further developing the existing systems, meeting new customer needs and identifying forward-looking standards presents a constant challenge for K+S KALI GmbH, one that the Company’s employees are happy to rise to.
