Potassium chloride (KCl) is put to many uses by the food industry, not only as an additive in instant soups, but in a wide range of products. Among other purposes, use of KCL serves to lower the sodium chloride (NaCl) content of many convenience foods, thereby following a trend towards a more balanced nutrition.
