The SSDEI is a representative body of the European extractive industry’s employers’ organisation, as well as representing the European Mining, Chemistry and Energy Industry Union. It functions as an advisory committee to the EU-commission, for mining-specific issues, and among other activities, facilitates the dialogue with EU-parliamentarians.

As president, Burkhard Schulze will be in charge of heading the social dialogue’s four meetings during his one-year term. He is expected to shape and influence the organisation’s agenda, as well as taking on representative tasks.

In his activities he will be supported by two K+S-colleagues: Dr. Ines Strackenbrock (responsible for European Affairs in the sectors of Environmental Protection, Work Safety and Quality Management) and by Friedhelm Mester (head of Marketing-project/Trade Policy of the K+S KALI GmbH).
